Learning marketing #2

So what has happened in the last 1.5 month in marketing my product.

In short, I have tried some random stuff this time. I got some good feedback, what ended up in improvements in my product (mainly compliance in Europe), some more experiments and even more ideas for future improvements. Maybe I got 1 user not in my home market. I need to wait to see if they stick as my users have tendency to use my product once per month in some specific cases. Lastly home market gave strong signal that my product is actually good.

What has worked:

  • Posting in niche subreddit (less than 10000 subscribers) by following rules of subreddit.

  • www.indieappcircle.com - got some good feedback overall, some positive vibes, but otherwise I think this is not platform that is worth to be invested in as users do not stick. However this is good platform to get good technical feedback.

What I am not sure about

  • I have started writing blog posts - not sure if this works yet.

  • I have figure out how to create promotional videos and started publishing them.

  • reddit ads - this one took interesting turn. I was contacted by reddit and had meeting with them. What I have basically learned that if I want to get any meaningful results I must spend about 2000$ / month. I guess this might work, but I think it is not time yet for that. I will absolutely consider this in the future.

  • peerpush.net - just registered. I am not sure if I want to spend money on this as I don’t have any proof that this will attract any users.

What has not worked

  • www.techtrendin.com - I have spend about 20$ on this one in the end on January. So far 0 ratings 0 reviews. I guess this is waste of money. As well this makes me reluctant to spend money on other similar products.

Do you wonder what my product is? It is invoicing app for individual workers in Europe: haiku.lt
